lives at No. 5, Belilios Terrace. He is a man of property and

Anarchist and was driven from Spain. In 1875 the father was arrested at Santiago de Cuba for aiding the Insurgents there and he and his son were shot. Later on Manuel went to Spain and joined the Anarchists there. In 1888 he was driven from Barcelona: He was afterwards arrested at Cadiz and sentenced to a long term of imprisonment. In 1895 he was allowed to enlist for service in the Spanish Army in the Philippine Islands, but he deserted his regiment and joined the Insurgents. He went in with Aguinaldo and others and was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment for stabbing a soldier. On the completion of his sentence he joined armed robbers down there and in 1903 returned to Hong Kong. He then joined Ricarte here in organizing a Society called the "Republica Universal Democrata Filipinas", the object of which is the overthrow of the U. S. Government in the Philippine Islands.
